Parenting across Scotland is a partnership of children's charities and adult relationship organisations working together for families and children in Scotland.

Working with our partners, Parenting across Scotland provide information and support for parents, families and practitioners in Scotland.  Our work involves carrying out research on a range of parenting issues and influencing policymakers.  Find out more about our partners below.

Aberlour Childcare Trust

Aberlour’s mission is ‘to improve the lives of Scotland’s children and young people’. We work in partnership with families and with those involved in their lives in order to achieve best outcomes. We provide advice and support for parents, and have services across Scotland.

CHILDREN 1st

CHILDREN 1st has been working to give every child in Scotland a safe and secure childhood for 125 years. We support families under stress, protect children from harm and neglect, help children recover from abuse, and promote children's rights.

Families Outside

Families Outside is the only national charity in Scotland that works solely to support the families of people involved in the criminal justice system. We work to mitigate the effects of imprisonment on children and families - and consequently to reduce the likelihood of reoffending - through support and information for families and for the people who work with them.

One Parent Families Scotland

One Parent Families Scotland provides information to lone parents and others working with them, develops parents’ confidence and employability, and provides flexible childcare. We also lobby on behalf of lone parents. We produce the Rights Guide, other fact sheets and bulletins.

Relationships Scotland

Relationships Scotland supports a national network of local services providing relationship counselling, family mediation, child contact centres and other family support services. We were formed in 2008 through the merger of Relate Scotland and Family Mediation Scotland.

As relationship experts, SMC has been providing relationship support across Scotland for over 40 years. We deliver specialist relationship counselling for couples and individuals, marriage preparation, family and youth counselling, and relationship education.

Scottish Adoption

Scottish Adoption offers a comprehensive adoption service to everyone affected by adoption. We recruit adoptive families for children and provide information, counselling and support to birthparents and relatives, adopted children and adults, adoptive parents and anyone interested in adoption.
