Early Learning and Childcare

Inclusion Fund

The Scottish Government's Early Learning & Childcare Inclusion Fund is now open to applications.

The ELC Inclusion Fund provides funding to ELC settings to support children with additional support needs (ASN) in Scotland access their funded ELC entitlement. It funds staff working in ELC settings to receive appropriate training and fund resources, equipment and adaptations.

The ELC Inclusion Fund is funded by the Scottish Government and managed by Children in Scotland.

Innovation in provision

The Scottish Government and its partners have agreed a Quality Action Plan to improve the quality of Early Learning and Childcare (ELC) provision.

Action 13 committed the Scottish Government to identifying settings that have demonstrated innovation and impact in some aspect of their practice and to establish ways to share this nationally. In return, the Scottish Government will support them to evidence and enhance their understanding of the impact on children.

If you are delivering funded ELC and you believe your setting is demonstrating innovation in some aspect of practice and that this is benefitting children’s development, they would love to hear from you.

Between 5 and 10 ELC settings, and a small team drawn from the Scottish Government improvement team, Care Inspectorate and Education Scotland will work with you to develop the evidence of your work and its benefits, and also to share this learning across Scotland.
