Tech for All

Charity Guide Dogs is offering free iPads or iPhones to children with sight loss across the UK.

For a limited time, it is offering iPads to children with a vision impairment aged 3-18, while secondary school-age children may choose an iPhone instead.  The devices have excellent accessibility features built-in, and online guides and tutorials will be provided to help them get started and to ensure that they know how to stay safe online.

The devices will be completely free of charge, with the only requirement being proof of vision impairment.

We know how important technology is for children with a vision impairment and we hope to reach as many families who could benefit as possible.

For children with sight loss and their parents, early intervention from Guide Dogs is lifechanging.

Emma Foulds, director of marketing and strategy, Guide Dogs, said:

“Tech for All has been designed to enable children with sight loss to be more independent and do whatever it is they want to do or what their friends are doing.

“Whether it is Facetiming their mates, playing games, reading or learning, the accessibility features on an iPad or iPhone can be key to unlocking a child’s world and maximising their potential.”
