Ban on smoking in cars with children comes into force
A new law making it illegal to smoke in cars with anyone under the age of 18 comes into force today (5 December 2017).
Public Health Minister Aileen Campbell said the "poisonous chemicals in second-hand smoke" were particularly dangerous to children. But Ms Campbell said the point of the law was to change behaviour rather than punish people.
