Policy

PAS would like to see a Scotland in which families can thrive.

Our policy priorities are family support and parenting, childcare and early learning, and family friendly working. You'll find information about these here, plus related articles, updates and policy responses.

Lives in lockdown: parents’ accounts

Parents share their experience of how they and their children have been affected by the Coronavirus outbreak and how they're coping with life in lockdown.

Family support and parenting

PAS works with Scottish Government and others on a range of policy issues to support families, from basic needs to the provision of universal and targeted services.

Early learning and childcare

Early learning and childcare is essential for families. It can help improve children’s early development, and is also important for those parents who wish or need to return to work.

Family friendly working

Working Families, Fathers Network Scotland, the Scottish Government and PAS have formed this initiative to make Scotland a beacon of excellence in family friendly working.

Policy articles and updates

Articles on parenting policy from our e-newsletter: National Parenting Strategy, early years, health and parenting support and more.

Consultation responses and briefings

We work closely with politicians and government to make sure that they fully consider what families need and want.
