One Parent Families Scotland agreed to lead on this
event. It was decided that this event would be based in the Central
region as OPFS have good links with statutory authorities in
Falkirk and Stirling; also OPFS has a family centre project in the
Polmont area.
Purpose of seminar
The objective of the seminar was to bring together representatives
from Stirling and Falkirk councils and the voluntary sector to
consider the different approaches to Children's Services and how we
might improve links between the statutory and voluntary sectors
whilst taking into account the different structures within their
children's services departments. The seminar gave an opportunity,
through discussion groups to look at a range of services provided
by Maddiston Family Centre, run by One Parent Families Scotland,
NCH Scotland, Family Mediation Central, Scottish Marriage Care and
Clackmannanshire Council.
